Day 73 - trip to Cobham and visited a friend... in her garden only! So many cyclists and lots of traffic too. Plaque for Mathew Arnold( 1822-1888) on the site of the house where he lived for the last 15 years of his life. He was an English poet who also worked as an inspector of Schools. His father was headmaster of Rugby School and he taught there for a short time. He is sometimes called the third great Victorian poet after Alfred,Lord Tennyson and Robert Browning. ‘Dover Beach’ is one of his most well known proms and has been used in other novels etc.
