There were cygnets

Basil and I walked the circuit of Charnwood Water this afternoon. I can't remember the last time I was there.

The trees were verdant but the ground was horribly dry. We need rain so badly.

Not many young birds. A couple of swans with just three cygnets and a mallard duck with four very young ducklings (see extra). I doubt that they will survive long although Mum was being very protective.
