The quilt top blipped yesterday is not a finished product.  The top now needs to be attached to the center core (batting) and the base (backing).   The individual parts are first joined with safety pins so they don't shift around during the quilting process. Hanging the three components together helps ensure no wrinkles will be locked into the finished product. 

There is a lot of work left to do before the quilt will be a safe, warm cocoon where dreams will be born.  

She goes at these tasks as they come in order with determination and grace.  She enjoys even the most tedious parts of the job and I think her joy in making something so beautiful out of small, unimportant scraps of fabric sines through. Her skills and talents seem to fit her like a spandex suit that's two sizes too small.  

I am humbled.
