News from the sea floor

This thin piece of sandstone/mudstone was turned up by the cultivator. Looks like wavelet patterns on a shallow sea floor that has been fossilised. Maybe by a sudden dumping or slumping of sediment. All to make up the huge bands of sedimentary/metamorphic rock that make up the relatively young Apennines
