Far Bank Surprise
The anticipated day of rain came up short, although the threat was always there and dark clouds cast a gloomy shadow. On the far bank, a nannyberry in bloom shows off its white flowers to great effect set, against dark green leaves.
I was conflicted about the light coming in at the top of the image. Normal advice dictates avoiding distracting elements at the edge of the frame that might draw the eye. Although I reduced it a little, it seemed logical to show the light source illuminating the lower flowers and leaves.
