Welcome back, Mr Heron
I had actually already spotted Mr Heron at the small pond yesterday afternoon when I rode out of the park. It was his first time back in the new year and it was lovely to see him again.
The weather was very windy again today and I was very quickly losing hope of finding something to blip at the park this afternoon, especially as it hadn't stopped raining yet since I got up. Fortunately, Mr Heron was at the small pond again and I managed to get two shots, this one being the best of the two.
My first walk this afternoon with Zorba, one of the sanctuary's St.Bernards, can best be described as unusual in the sense that it's not the sort of walk I'm used to. He obviously liked a very slow pace and never once pulled on his lead. He was so easy to walk that 90% of the time it felt like I wasn't walking a dog at all and I even had to look behind me several times to make sure that he was still there with me.
This morning my large box from a British shop with mostly teas and food items that I cannot find anywhere here in Gent arrived and unpacking everything felt like opening presents on Christmas morning, even though I knew what was in the box.
