Oyster catchers

We had surprise visitors this afternoon - a family of oyster catchers.  They spent more than hour poking beaks into our front grass.  One of the adults was supervising from the roof of our neighbour's car, and one of the babies sat on our drive just at the rear of the car.  The babies didn't look as if they were able to fly yet.  Oyster catchers have been known to nest on the roof of the school up the road, so maybe they came from there.
