Bridge over the River Seine

After missing our first train to St Pancras, LB and I made it onto the Eurostar to Paris this morning by the skin of our teeth!

Once we had negotiated the Metro and checked into our hotel, we took in a little walk along the Seine and under the Eiffel Tower - we have plans to hopefully venture up the tower at sunset tomorrow, timing permitting.

The last (and only) time I have visited Paris previously was with my Mum many years ago. Despite only being here for three nights in total, we went to the same bar every single night for a nightcap and to enjoy the impressive view of the Trocadéro. With this in mind, I was delighted to happen across the familiar sight this evening and as it seemed like fate, it would have been rude not to have eaten there! Three courses and a bottle of wine, a great start to the weekend!!
