The first day of winter

Hard to believe but it is the first day of Winter here. And June!
We had a very pleasant social morning and met some of Joe's friends at Totally Roasted, an eaterie in Pohara, for coffee. They have a 6 month year old and we had Esme but it worked beautifully. Esme was entranced by everything, had a snack box and was treated to a fluffy, a cappuccino without the coffee! I had to turn the cushions over before we left (outside seats) which were covered in fluffy and beetroot hummus. Quite an alarming combination.
Tantie totals very low today and she even got into her car seat without too much fuss. In the afternoon we walked through Payne's Ford - a few teddies still in evidence in the trees which caused much delight. It's an amazing spot - bush, river and on the other side huge limestone crags, much loved by climbers. A few were back today, first time since lockdown.
I took an impromptu pic of said river for MonoMonday.
Another wild sunset, plus an enormous pink rainbow in the opposite direction.
