Living The High Life

Having a birthday just before Christmas means that you can celebrate into the new year and this is how Mr Flum spent the morning, courtesy of the children's gift.

We were up very early for the drive to Perth airport, in Scone, for his instruction in a flight simulator, where he landed the plane in Edinburgh, Gatwick and Heathrow airports. Now suitably qualified, he was taken up in a Reims F152 where he took the controls for a flight over the surrounding countryside for the next 15 minutes or so, the instructor (who looked about 19 years old) performing the take-off and landing manoevres.

He returned, exhilarated, wishing he had available the several thousands of pounds to continue lessons.
