Compost

I love our compost heaps. I love the concept of putting waste in a big pile, stirring it and letting the magic happen. I have a wonderful tool like a giant corkscrew which turns it beautifully. We have two heaps one rotting , one being filled at any one time. Yesterday we emptied one and used it as a mulch for the border. The blackbirds are enjoying scratting through it and feasting on the numerous brandlings.
