Hidden Benefits

I was going to thrill you with a photo of some gravel...but decided this furry fellow was way more pleasing to the eye.
M and I laboured for several hours today removing loads of gravel from a 3m x 9m section of our front driveway.  Then we put it all back again! 
Why?  Because it didn't have any anti-weed membrane between the gravel and soil and I was heartily fed up of spending hours weeding it on a fairly regular basis.  So, it was one of those garden jobs where,  unusually, there was nothing to show for all our hard work, but the benefits will have made it all worthwhile.
