Big Star in Sky

My wife told me that she had seen a large field of poppies just outside the village so I cycled out to reconnoitre.  Sure enough there were loads of the flowers, but I couldn't decide how to treat the scene.

So I took a fair few shots and ended up with my ultrawide capturing this scene, in mono and vivid colour.  I kept the aperture small to get the star effect on the sun.  

My reward was a rather strange bit of flare in the bottom  of the image . . .
