bit of a fast blip today - our son got two days notice that they are coming to do his concrete drive, BBQ area and turning circle - and they need the garage clear to concrete up to it etc - so it was all hands to the pumps to get it cleared out.

What I don't understand is how they can promise to come for months - in this case since October, and then give two days notice. As in a phone call on Friday " we'll be starting your place at 7am Monday morning, have the garage clear!"

Not that any of us are complaining, far too many people will wait years for the call, and we are all pathetically grateful when one of us gets it!

This lily grows by the garage! comes up every year, has one huge flower stalk, with these dramatic stamens and pistils and that's it - has never developed more bulbs or anything.
