WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Naughty Girl!

Bella May is in the bad books! She caught one baby rabbit this morning - a first for her - Frank went out and took it off her and it hopped off into the field.
Then this afternoon a man who is painting the boat next door called us and pointed to a baby rabbit in the canal - swimming for its life. Bella had spied it behind the bench and chased it. In its shock it ran and fell in the water. Frank put a plastic step in the water and the wee thing swam to him and he scooped it up. He put it in the field and after a few minutes it too hopped off up the hill.

I know it is Bella's instinct but I don't like it. I've taught her since she was young to be friendly and gentle with other creatures and on the whole she is - especially cats and horses. However, when something runs she automatically chases - especially squirrels and rabbits. She's not usually quick enough.

It rained all night and for part of the morning but now the sun is shining. The plants are looking very happy :-)

We didn't do much today. Frank has to take Bella walkies morning and afternoon just now as with my bad knee I can't walk far enough to tire her out.

Just now we are watching 'The Joy of Painting' on BBC 4. The artist Bob Ross (deceased) is amazing and makes lanscapes look so easy using wide brushes and pallette knives. We watch this programme whenever we remember and I think we are both working up to having a go!

Watching the news over the last few days has been upsetting. I would like to think with all the 'Black Lives Matter' protests that positive changes are afoot. People- especially those in authority - eg cannot be allowed to treat people - whatever their colour, race or creed - in such cruel and heartless ways. Why on earth do white people think they are so superior?
It's up to parents to instill a sense of equality and tolerance in the young generation so this type of behaviour becomes a thing of the past.
It's also up to parents to teach their children to take their litter home! Some of the photos I've seen on Facebook of beaches and woodlands with cans and take away packaging strewn everywhere are disgusting and shameful.

Rant over!

Now I have to choose a new book to start tonight :-D

Stay safe everyone ;-)x
