into the world!
I went into the world today! I actually went twice. I went to an eye exam at 11:30 and learned my appointment was at 1:30, which demonstrates that I need new glasses. I drove the old car the first time and the new car the second time. Everyone I saw had a mask on. The optometrist was so careful that I knew Karen would find it reassuring - so of course tonight she said we'll wait two weeks and see if I get sick. The optometrist took my temperature with a device that didn't touch me, asked me a set of questions, and assured me that she had reduced her appointments so she can disinfect between each one because she was a germaphobe BEFORE.
When I was leaving there was a poor man whose temperature was too high. He'd been sitting in his car too long this hot day so I suggested taking his temperature in another three minutes.
It was an excellent first experience out in the real world. She admired my haircut and expressed the appropriate level of amazement. She told me funny stories about her sons cutting their hair.
This ball is on the deck of some of my neighbors. They let me do a photo shoot of their son the day I was so upset because of the idiot in the park that holiday. (I didn't share the full story.) Their son plays with this ball on his deck. The bits of color are leaves. Did I capture a sense of loneliness?
The extra is a wind-up dragon toy. I realize I've taken a lot of dragon photos. I even specifically went to Danang, Vietnam to see the fire breathing dragon bridge. Well, this picture is also Vietnam and it looks like I might be in a little trouble.
