Presidential Perpendiculars

The president is me, not the other one! Proud of my perpendiculars here, completely untouched by any straightener function. I'm a close examiner of where lines meet corners of frame and crop to the millimetre . . . curious to know if anyone else pays such attention/cares a toss!

I've been in full presidential mode this week relating to our small street, negotiating conditions of access etc. re these new windows going in at the top end of our passageway, replacing rendered brick. We are an architecturally protected street but the local authority deemed it ok to let them do this, though it was not very clear on their plans which I only saw 24 hours before the work began. There is no obligation to consult neighbouring interested parties nor any right to oppose the local government's decision . . . all very Franco-esque.

It is an interesting little private passageway, though. The lamp maker helped me jump start our car and pumped air into all the tyres. He also did the same for our local Jesuit education specialist, famous for his TED talks in Latin America, who was wondering about looking a bit dazed by the noise of these works. The graphic designers asked when they could come to fix the top terrace screening. Our next-door architect took her dog for a walk while our oncologist-nurse neighbour paused to help us connect the right cable to the right battery contact point. And the car started!
