Sticking together like birds of a feather

Had a very pleasant walk along the dunes with my daughter this afternoon and spotted these birds flocking together, rising and falling in a beautiful movement. We also saw a couple of pretty butterflies, is this a small heath? Unfortunately this is the best shot I could get of it before it fluttered off.
