D.I.Y. Roadside Rescue

"Buy a 17mm spanner and if it does it again, just do what I did".

That was the advice of the garage last week after our van was relayed in by the AA for a recurring but apparently trivial engine problem (which the mechanic says will cure itself in time).

I do not as a rule touch engines but today I nervously did because it did it again, miles from home.

And we got home. Still nervous though.
