A short walk to get ahead of the rain this morning, and I nearly managed it.

Home in plenty of time for the Bridge Club Zoom meeting. We’re setting up an online presence and we had two successful little tournaments this week. It’s tough for clubs. How can we go forward with social distancing?  

Online bridge has become increasingly popular and it even means I can play without negotiating the horrid A38 both ways. And I can even have a glass of wine.  There is a friendly social dimension too. It’s not as good as going out to see our friends, but it’s a very good and enjoyable alternative.

I have two good friends who helped me get used to BBO. That’s “Bridge Base Online” and it sounds scarier than it is. It’s free to join, with clear instructions, and all you really have to do is think of an alias.
