Chippy
In the evening Gugs and I walked over to Alicky and Jonno’s, fantastic mates and organisers of the socially distanced adventure treasure hunt of the other week. We sat in their yard, separated but warmed by a fire pit, and with dinner from the chippy on our knees. After I’d ordered my food the lady behind the counter had been hollering in Portuguese to someone behind the scenes, like something from This Country. I loved how quickly she shifted from talking about battered sausages in a strong Cambridge accent (which is a bit Essex-like) to yelling at some unseen person.
Sainsbury’s doing their bit today for equality.
