The Raw Power of The Sea
We were up in Balintore and Shandwick today in Easter Ross. Along with Hilton of Cadboll these are known as The Seaboard Villages. These villages were devastated by the storms just before Christmas and its reckoned that £2,500,000 of damage was caused by the incoming tides and strong storms. At the moment there are new flood barriers being built along with a lot of repairs. It was a very calm day today with no wind. The sea was calm and yet these huge waves were rolling in near high tide. It was amazing to see the Raw Power of the sea. I can only imagine what these poor people went through on the days and nights of the storms.
