My first Morning Glory flower of the year

I've been growing these lovely plants for some years, and have propagated my own seeds from their flowers for at least three years. I germinated a bunch of their seeds some weeks ago and having potted them on, I planted them out into a large container just outside the back door. There they can mingle with a few climbing French beans which went in at the same time, and together climb up the large trellis.

Yesterday I was delighted to see a flower bud develop on the Morning Glory, and as expected the first flower unfurled today. There will be countless more to come, probably fresh every morning. I quickly snapped this one for posterity in a lull between showers.
