The bee and the sage
Today's the day ………………………… to get stuck in
The sage bush in my herb garden is a mass of flowers at the moment - which are obviously very attractive to bees that fill the air with their buzzing.
There were lots of different types of bees too that the bee experts would know. This one made me laugh though because it was obviously on a mission to get nectar. It did the bee equivalent of rolling up its sleeves and then it dived into a flower head first. It did what it had to do in there but then, being quite a tubby little bee, it sort of got stuck. It had to inch backwards until it got enough leverage to extract its head - a bit like getting a cork out of a bottle. Then a quick shake - and off to the next flower - to do the same thing all over again.
Some bees just never learn ……………………...
