Evening visitor
About 7-8 years ago we had a female gray fox that would cut through our back yard about 7 PM many evenings. The last year we saw her she had 3 pups who discovered our pear tree had the most wonderful food in the world. They were a lot of fun to watch. Then they all disappeared and I have not seen one since. There was a red fox passing through twice in very early spring but for the last week this gray has been visiting our compost heap every few days. I think he likes the egg shells. He looks larger in the photo than he really is. He's not much bigger than Gandalf (who I admit is trying to get fatter- um larger daily). I would be quite pleased if he continues to stop by.
