Day 76 Rain!
As so often happens, we haven't been long into June before the weather changes for the worse, although after such a long dry spell we do need it desperately for our drying gardens and ponds. Just would have preferred it not today. No chance of a socially distanced BBQ in the garden.
Yesterday it was announced that masks, or at least face coverings would become mandatory on public transport, with fines for those found flouting the rules: the same masks that a few weeks ago we were told were unnecessary. I gather that now they are to worn in all hospital and medical settings. That will come as a shock the reception staff at the hospital MR MC attended on Thursday, where there were no perspex screens and no masks or face coverings worn by desk staff.
Today large numbers gathered in central London for anti-racism protests following the death of George Floyd. Their cause is a just one and I support them fully in their aims, but such large gatherings at this time cannot be wise.
Thank you to everyone who visited my journal yesterday and wished me happy birthday, very much appreciated!
