Saturday Night Take Away

Its Saturday it must be the Brown House Inn for a takeaway chicken and leek pie and a tiger prawn linguine. We  timed the collection with a walk in the Winster Valley.
I planted out 7 bush tomato plants on the patio.  Neighbours asked for peanuts for a squirrel trap. A young grey squirrel has been spotted for the first time, jumping round our gardens. Not sure what they will do with it when they have caught it.
Feeling sorry for the swallows who arrive but find their nests were destroyed by the previous owners. We can see where the nests were . Not sure what they did last year but this year  Mr P has attached bought swallow nests under the eves of the conservatory. Two swallows are delighted and are busy making a nest more comfy with bits of straw. 

Day 78
No daily briefing but 204 deaths up to 40,465. No other European country has more than 40,000 deaths.   Our Government has a lot of soul searching to do and they carry on relaxing restrictions. 

South Lakeland still 4th in the local authority  +ve cases ranking but Ashford has overtaken Lancaster to be second. Spent a long time chatting to a friend who lives near Ashford. The only peculiarity about Ashford is the Eurostar station but very few non freight users are allowed to use the the Channel Tunnel at the moment- mainly business and medical people. 

The continuing high rate of cases in the North West of England, has led to reports that R >1 here. The mayors of Greater Manchester and Liverpool have advised schools not to reopen and accuse the Government drawing up relaxation rules for the country based on London.  It did not stop #BlackLivesMatter demonstrations in the region following the murder of George Floyd by a policeman in the USA on 25 May 2020. Priti Patel asked people not to demonstrate because it’s clearly against the guidance but who listens to Priti Patel?
