Contrasts

Another very quiet day. Once again cloudy and cool most of the day so not very conducive to a bike ride or long walk and I still had a lot of reading, thinking and prep to do for tomorrow anyway, so stayed in and worked. Had a nice chat to Mt and the kids as they played and showed me round the garden, and to T&Kt as they drove home with some fish for their half-barrel pond, then to a friend about his kids preparing banners to go to the #BLM protest in Glasgow. When I nipped to the shop for milk and bread I saw several groups of young people heading down to the Edinburgh protest venue in Holyrood Park. Saw on Twitter that it had been a large (and appropriately spaced) group. Perhaps now there will be a real change? If not, when? Somewhat ironic that I've spent the last few days reading and thinking about inclusive social identities and what Andrew Cuomo in NYC called the 'concept of we'.  We definitely need more of that sense of us and we...
