Artichokes
Not much sun today either. Just a glimmer early evening, showing our growing artichokes in a good light. In a few weeks we will cut a few to eat.
What a miserable day. But weather is set to improve after today so Jack and I are planning our big day out.....A walk around Cambridge tomorrow. We haven't been there since early March.
I have been reading an interesting book, At the Edge of the Orchard by Tracy Chevalier about William Lobb, an early plant explorer his assistant who travelled around all the American countries during 19th century sending back seeds and plant specimens to England. I know know the difference between a redwood and a sequoia tree!. The novel is set mainly, so far, in Ohio and California with a few references to Oregon.
Have a good week folks.
