Nell always has lots of jobs to do in the garden but when we let her out she always has lots of jobs she needs to do in the house. And so we go back and forth. That is life with a Springer.
Mr EG had a frustrating morning trying to get some sharp sand to do our patio extension. He tracked some down to Wicks in Loughborough but the website wouldn't allow him to purchase on click and collect so he assumed he had to go to the store. He was there at opening and there was a pallet full of sand there but due to some blip in the system no one can buy it because it's click and collect only. Bloody marvellous. And there's none available elsewhere.
I'd taken the kids to the yard with me as they wanted to see the horses going on to the weighbridge. They all had good losses so very pleased the hard work is paying off. Mr EG collected the kids and me and Juliet took the big boys out for a hack. Went round the reservoir. Both were full of beans. It was a good ride and we missed the worst of the bad weather.
There followed an afternoon of housework because it was raining outside. Much grumpiness as that's no way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Mr EG made up for it with an awesome dinner. Whenever we ask the kids what they'd like for dinner Eva always says sausages and Tobes always says beef wellington. He'd never had beef wellington before but saw the recipe flicking through a 'Mary Bear-y' (that's what he calls her) cook book. Mr EG decided to make it tonight for dinner. Tobes was so made up!
