Big skies

I took this picture from my garden, it reminds me of a time i realised as a man how small and vunerable i am.
I was stood on Stannage Edge , at the time i was a whip (whipper in) for the Holme Valley Beagles, the day was coming to an end , minus 2, sun going down, the day had gone well , hunting was good. I found myself alone, the hounds had moved on, but i had to stay incase the hare ran my way and i would have had to stop the hounds going over the edge. all was quiet , nothing or no-one for miles , i felt so alone , am i going to get off the moor safely? the moment was so lonely yet beautiful, in the skies above a 747 passed over , leaving its contrails the sound of its distant engines is the only sound i hear. fuck! i feel so bloody small.
