Sunny Saturday on the Thames
Well, the flooding continues but boy did the Thames and its surrounding meadows look beautiful today.
A quick trip to town to collect a painting we'd had framed turned into a great blipportunity! Unlike Oxford, buskers are quite a rarity in Abingdon, but en route to the river I paused and enjoyed some great entertainment from a talented classical guitarist, Kevin Wain.
This is looking south from Abbey Meadow - just few hundred yards east of the town centre. If you have time do look in large to see the two almost-submerged signs (one mid right, one mid left) welcoming you to Abingdon.
You can read the welcoming details on the sign here.
I've got two reasons for being very pleased with this blip:
a) I finally got to make good use of the telephoto lens MOH gave me as a complete surprise at Christmas, and...
b) This is straight out of the camera with no processing at all apart from converting the RW2 to a JPG
