The Clutha River

... in winter.  We drove to Shortcut Road and walked along the river to just beyond The Devil’s Nook.  Later on we walked out to the marina to see an overturned truck in the middle of the road.  Somehow it had toppled over while unloading something at the building site there.  It had gouged out a hole in the road’s surface and the crane on its tray spanned the entire road, digging into the grass verge beyond the footpath.  No injuries but I’ll bet a very red face!
