Christmas Tree

I came home to my Stamford apartment yesterday evening after the 11-hour flight from Edinburgh to JFK via London Heathrow. One Martin Travel guitar, one back pack, one large suitcase, one small rucksack and a bottle of GlenFarclas 15-year old malt whisky.

Unfortunately, my first night in Stamford involved contracting food poisoning. Let's just say I wasn't staring at the stars all night. It was a long night.

However, a good friend brought over bananas and rice as I had no food in the house. I ate a small amount and we caught up a little, which was just lovely.

Now fed and watered, I am having a good look around the flat and am finding it hard to believe I've not been around since 21 December. The sun is out and the view from my apartment is as wonderful as I remember it.

However, on my writing desk sits a solitary Christmas decoration, that of a paper Christmas tree.

I'll put it away until next Christmas, when my shipped-out Scottish decorations will join in the festivities.
