BIG BUMBLE

Bumble bees like my coneflowers. When I was a baby biologist, I used to catch them with my hand and hold them by the butt so they couldn't bite me. That was a learning moment...bees can "bite" with their butts.

Normally Bumbles are non-aggressive unless they are threatened. I suppose grabbing one by the butt could be perceived as threatening.
