Snake Eyes
by Alan Parsons Project
My wife saw from the cottage window that a snake was swimming towards our side of the bay. Grabbed the camera and stepped on the landing jetty. The grass snake (I was happy that it was not the other alternative in our parts, the adder) stopped at the same time, offering me a chance to take a few photos before it continued. The extra shows it sniffing with its forked tongue, but unfortunately the shadows of the reeds partly covered its eyes. The story has a happy end, i.e. the grass snake continued on its way and we returned to the breakfast table.
