They’re Baaack!

The Starlings have returned in force! Here are two of three fledglings I’ve seen, each accompanied by at least two adults. I hear their frenzied chirping when they invade the lilac trees or fly overhead in a group. It happens several times a day. Go away, little birdies • I planted a couple of cinnamon ferns in a shady area of the perennial garden near the cherry tree. Earlier in the spring we transplanted the echinacea plants to a sunnier section and purchased these ferns to replace them • I fertilized and watered plants, and did a bit of weeding. A good day so far! • Beware of Starlings!
