Bake it off

There seems to be signs of things starting to ramp up again.

Work has been super busy over the past couple of weeks and today was no exception, but I must confess to having dozed off during a webinar - that’s right, it’s all go!

More importantly, Thursday is the 6th birthday of The Youngest and so the non-work part of my day has been spent preparing for her birthday tea. She has already requested Hot Dogs & Fries (for definite) and Cherry Bakewell ice cream in a cone for pudding. I think she will suspect/hope that she is getting a cake, but she probably won’t be expecting me to make one!

Whilst this may appear to be a simple, Victoria Sandwich to you, it is a work of great complexity and majesty to me. It’s only my second one, so I hope that it is acceptable to her ladyship on her big day - it will of course be beautified with icing sugar and candles on serving.

The final piece de resistance will be the presence of her older sister, which she is definitely not expecting!
