Wombat

We're spending the weekend on Wilsons Promontary because this is where the wombats hang out in the wild. They seem to be somewhere between a guinea pig and a capybara. They are so cute and quite tame - you can get quite close to them.

We've also seen lots of roos, wallabies, emus and one koala. The Prom' is a fantastic place with lots of variety in scenery - beaches, mountains, wilderness. We walked to Squeaky Beach where the sand actually squeaks beneath your feet! It's something to do with the type and shape of the sand grains. The sea was amazing on this beach and the waves were huge. Definitely a great place to visit.
