Giant tweezers

I found these lying on ground while waiting for the bus. They are at lease 30 cm long so I wonder what they are used for - some kind of medical instrument? Notice the standard match on the jaw to give proportion.

I already have bed conscience for taking them, what if the person who lost them came back and combed whole of Mäkelänkatu to find them.
