We always knew it was going to rain this afternoon, but the downpour when it came was something else. Rain hard enough to bounce on the pavement is not unheard of, but bouncing on water? I thought the day was done photographically and tried to take advantage of the limited visibility to isolate subjects, but this image captured the experience best.

Rain and wind continued on and off for the afternoon and evening, until sunset, when the sky took on a different look (see extra).
