The Jewels In The Sea

We had marinated prawns tonight, following a recipe of Charles Dance, perhaps best known for his role as Guy Merron in The Jewel In the Crown BBC series from 1984. We first cooked it in about 1989 when we had my legal partner David Kidd and his then wife, Gerry, round for dinner to our top floor flat at 92 Montpelier Park, Edinburgh which had unobstructed views of the castle.

The book it is in is The Food Aid Cookery Book, 1986, with recipes by all the stars of the day edited by Delia Smith. Our dear, late friend, Lizanne Campbell, presented it to us with a whole lot of post-its in place with little hints and tips . . . nice to hear her, again!
