English Civil War cannon ball - probably

I found this cannon ball near Thurlstone Sands in
Devon in a narrow country lane. Perhaps thrown up by the farmer ploughing the
land and then making its way through the hedgerow.
There was English Civil War action in Modbury,
Devon in December 1642 and February 1643. Modbury is only about 8 miles
away.

It weighs very nearly 7 pounds (3164 g) and has a
circumference of 12.13 inches (31 cm) but 370 years of corrosion has reduced its
size a little
