Bob Delyn a'r Ebillion
We went into town on Saturday night to see Bob Delyn a'r Ebillion play at Clwb Ifor Bach on Womanby Street.
Bob Delyn are one of the Welsh bands that I have been listening to for years, but until now I'd not had the chance to see them live. Twm Morys the lead singer is also a poet and author.
I've never been into town on a Saturday night. It's like a foreign country full of frozen people wandering chaotically. We made our way down to Womanby Street and stood shivering waiting for the doors to open. While we were waiting, Twm Morys stepped out and spoke with us. We were the only two people waiting - the only two who thought that things really got started at 8pm.
Bob Delyn were supported by Y Rwtch a duo from Pontypridd with some fine harmonies.
Bob Delyn came on at 10.. They play a variety of styles including folk, rock, reggae and some songs that seem to have a middle-eastern influence. Twm Morys sings in Welsh and Breton. It was wonderful to see them playing live, it seems to be a rare opportunity.
More photos here. Not brilliant, but they give you an idea of the band and the place.
In case you don't get to see them. here they are at Portmeirion.
