In Velvet

In Tatton Park.

We went early. Feeling our way.

Three challenges:

* not everyone seems to be concerned about physical distancing. This is going to get more challenging as the “rule” changes from 2m to 1m to help out the hospitality industry. We are sticking to over 2m. We are getting good at weaving away from people.
.* entrances and exits are the real difficulty, as there is no way 2m can be maintained if the same path is used both ways, We walked by the road on the way out.
* car parks are an issue. It’s where we have to be most alert. Our most alarming moment today.

Sunday perhaps not the best day to go, even if it was early (but not so early when we left).

This Shielding “lark” is a challenge, especially once we are beyond our house and garden. But it’s one we have to deal with. I cannot see how there can be any relaxation before 2021. At the earliest.

The red deer is in velvet, the antlers covered in this wonderful soft tissue as they grow. An amazing expenditure of energy each year.

NB For our record crossing the Thelwall viaduct on the way to Tatton we saw a red kite. Only our second sighting in NW England.
