Greyness - personified...
It's been a difficult weekend. Nothing to celebrate. No advancements to be made. Just grey shit weather, a constant haar that deprives us of a view, and no particular reason to do anything.
At least today, I sorted out my photographs from the last month or so (no incentive to do that when the sun was shining...), so now we have
Times of Corona
April in Lockdown
The Third Month
and the beginnings of June - the fourth month in lockdown.
There are, inevitably, a lot of pictures of flowers and - increasingly - pictures of various culinary exploits. Those continued today, when I used some leftover chicken to make a chicken biryani. It was ok - a bit filling. And I managed to burn the bottom of the pan, so that's another pleasure to look forward to. Not.
The other useful thing we did today was that we sorted our cupboards. We returned in early March to #storecupboardzero and rapidly emptying supermarkets. As a result we, well mostly I, bought quite a lot of stuff that in the end we don't need. A sign of panic buying, perhaps, but not hoarding, as we have just shifted it out again, and dropped it off at the foodbank based at Leith Theatre, so that it can be properly recycled.
From there, we wandered down to Ocean Terminal, where I popped into Simply Food for a few bits, and around to inspect the eiders and swan families, before walking back up the north side of The Shore. Mr A found the paths a bit busy for his liking, so we came back on the road. Often a better option when walking in the middle of the day.
In a sort of blitz spirit, I sat out for half an hour or so in the afternoon, when there were some inklings of light and warmth, mostly wrapped in a blanket. Fresh air is important.
Overall, though, I have to say it was not our best weekend.
