Hoverfly hunt

We spent most of the afternoon on Arnside Knot searching for an extremely rare hoverfly called Doris! The nearest we came was this one Chrysotoxum bicynctum which is nearly exactly the same but not quite! Anyway it was lovely up on the Knot, very Mediterranean hot and full of flowers and the view is amazing! (See extra) I have never been up there before and now I know why some Blippers are up there so regularly. Loads of big fritillaries too.
