Sunspot Amusements, Burnham-on-Sea

Sunny day, very cold wind, and I set off to Burnham-on-Sea. A down to earth sea-side resort with many blipping opportunities. A little faded, windblown... children like the huge space to run, fly kites, play football, build sand castles, when the water isn't surging in..the tides are dramatic, the water being forced into an ever narrowing channel on the way up to Bristol and the Severn.

The light at the flat wide open Bristol Channel's Somerset coastline from Bridgewater going north is blinding sometimes, especially at low tide when light & sky is reflected off the wet sand. On a clear day you can see across to the Welsh coast fading away as it goes west.

I took lots of photos from the prom looking out to the water, but in the end chose one looking back at the art deco flats, the 70's amusement arcade, and the wedding cake hotel, from the little slipway / road with double yellow lines which leads straight into the water...this way to the Bristol Channel :)

I think the clouds maybe tell the story of the cold bright blustery weather. My hands were freezing, I couldn't feel the camera anymore...a hot chocolate in the Bay Cafe...brilliant afternoon.
