Whit's through the broken windae?

Went to visit the new Massimo Bartolini exhibition at the Fruitmarket gallery today. I liked the light installation in the main room. Wasn't really convinced by the collection of bits from his studio upstairs. I'd been reading about IAE (International Art English) earlier in the week, certainly brought that to mind. I was certainly aware of this style of press sheet. Glad it now has a name. Know your enemy and all that. Not to say there isn't a place for this, but so much of it is clearly just flan.

On leaving I noticed the building opposite was more derelict looking than I remember.
