Dear Diary,

A little Chipping Sparrow watched intently as a Song Sparrow demonstrated the proper technique for cracking open sunflower seeds.  She is a master of it.  I always leave some seeds on the feeding table and she has a feast, that is, if the chipmunks have scoffed them up! 

Our weather has been just lovely of late but today begins a heatwave that will last through Saturday with temperatures in the 90'sF.  I am not looking forward to that.
